Jose Mourinho faces pressure to drop star Man United player as 99% of fans want him axed

ALMOST every Manchester United fan wants Jose Mourinho to ditch captain Wayne Rooney, a fanzine study has revealed.
A staggering 99.08 per cent of United supporters demanded their under-performing skipper to be dropped by boss Mourinho.
The outrage from the United faithful stems from the Red Devils’ poor performances that have left the team six points behind rivals Manchester City after only five league games.
After Watford stunned United and secured their first win over them in 30 years, “Red Issue” ran a poll titled ‘How do you solve a problem like Wayne Rooney?’- only 0.92% believed they fare better with their captain.
Rooney, playing in central midfield once again with Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini failed to create any opportunities as he looks to extend on his one goal this campaign from the opening day of the season.
Late goals from Juan Zuniga and Troy Deeney left a sting in the mouths of fans who berated England’s all time greatest goalscorer on twitter after the match.
Mourinho not only now faces pressure to get results, but also has to worry about appeasing the fans without facing a backlash.
The Portuguese manager is left with a difficult decision where Rooney fits into his system – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has asserted himself as the main striker, and Paul Pogba‘s attacking attributes are being hindered from playing further back.

A trip away to Northampton Town in the EFL Cup follows before a home clash against the current Premier league champions Leicester City.
